Southampton Airport

Southampton Airport is 6km from Southampton on the outskirts of the City Centre. It is 30km from Portsmouth and 156km miles from Winchester. The airport is less than a kilometre from Junction 5 of the M27 motorway, with the M3 just a few minutes away, providing fast routes to Basingstoke and London with the A33/A34 linking to Oxford and the Midlands.

Today Southampton is one of Europe's most modern regional airports and almost two million passengers pass through the airport each year flying to 43 different destinations. Southampton Airport's departure lounge has recently undergone a £5 million investment programme and is twice the size it was, with new and improved catering and seating facilities.

Since 1990 it has been owned by BAA, which also owns Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

There are six of the major car hire companies at Southampton Airport.  You can book your car on arrival but it is recommended to pre book if you know you will need a hire car.

You can get to and from Southampton Airport by a variety of methods including Private Southampton Airport Transfers. With a Private Transfer you would be met in the arrivals hall by your own driver who will then take you on to your chosen destination.
