LHR - London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5
The new Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport has a simple layout and logical design so that passengers can find their way around very easily. There are 96 self-serve check-in kiosks and fast bag drops as well as a security channel at each end of the concourse, which is designed so that you should be through departures within ten minutes of your arrival. You have to pass through security and be ready to fly at least 35 minutes before your flight departs.
At Terminal 5 your gate will be reached either directly from the departures area or from one of two satellite terminals which are linked by fast automated transit. . Because the gates are arranged around the terminal passengers will have a shorter walk through passport control and baggage reclaim, with fantastic views of the airfield
The Terminal 5 development includes a six platform rail station located underneath the main terminal building with extensions to the London Underground Piccadilly Line and Heathrow Express: a spur road linking it to the M25: a bus and coach station on the ground floor of the 3,800-space car park: a new 87 metre high air traffic control tower and 60 aircraft stands.
