Glasgow international Airport is located 8 miles west of the City Centre and is close to the towns of Paisley and Renfrew. 

If you are travelling via the A1 northbound turn onto the A66 at Scotch Corner.  You will eventually come to Kemplay Bank Roundabout, take the second exit which will take you onto the M6 signposted Keswick.  Take the Junction 44 exit from here to join the A74 until you come to junction 4, exit here for the A73 and at the next junction onto the M8, travel on here until you reach junction 28.  Signs for the airport are clearly marked from here on.

For those travelling from the North, take the A9 or A84 onto the A80, joining the M8.  At junction 28 leave the motorway.  Signs for the airport area clearly  marked from here on.

Expansion continued during the late eighties with a £55 million expansion, increasing the terminal size by 70% to now cater for 8.8 million passengers a year. Glasgow International Airport is the busiest of Scotland's three main international airports. Over 40 airlines currently use its two runways flying to over 90 destinations, and further expansion is planned to increase annual passenger numbers to an estimated 16 million.

.You can get to and from Glasgow International Airport by a variety of methods including Private Glasgow International Airport Transfers. With a Private Transfer you would be met in the arrivals hall by your own driver who will then take you on to your chosen destination.

There are two terminal buildings at the airport; the Main Terminal and Terminal 2 (T2), which was built in 2004 in response to the increase in the  number of passengers travelling through the airport.

The terminal is spread over three floors with the check-in desks for both domestic and international departures located in the middle of the ground floor and the Departures Lounge on the first floor.

The lost property service is in the check-in hall on the ground floor (main terminal building).  It is open from 08:30 to 18:00 every day.  There will be a charge for each item. A left luggage facility is available outside the UK arrivals hall on the ground floor of the terminal. It is open 24 hours a day seven days a week.

An automated payment machine (sterling and euro notes accepted) is available 24 hours a day. Once payment has been made, the baggage should be taken to the Staff Search/Left Baggage Office nearby.

• Up to eight hours: £4.50 per four-hour block
• Eight to 24 hours: £10 per item.
• Outsize items (eg bikes and boxes etc) will be charged at double rate.

If you have lost luggage during transit, you will need to contact either the airline you were travelling with or their handling agent: details of which can be found on the flights page of this website. If your luggage does not arrive on the baggage reclaim belt, do not leave that area without speaking to a member of staff first.
